Virginia Energy Reviews Supreme Court Ruling
|Jun 18, 2019 ||
Virginia Energy Resources Inc. (TSX.V: VUI) ("Virginia Energy" or the "Company") is reviewing the ruling made on Monday, June 17, 2019 by the U.S. Supreme Court, that the federal Atomic Energy Act does not preempt state law, upholding Virginia's moratorium on uranium mining. Walter Coles Sr., president and CEO of Virginia Uranium Inc., issued the following statement in response to the U.S. court's ruling.
"We are still studying the Supreme Court's opinions, but we are obviously disappointed with the result. We continue to think that Virginia's uranium mining ban is both unlawful and unwise, and we are reviewing other options for challenging the Commonwealth's confiscation of Virginia Uranium's mineral estate."
